"Sunday Favorites" is a Sunday meme
designed by Chari @ Happy To Design to give bloggers
a chance to share a favorite post from the past.
I ran across this one from last Fall and those words continue to give me strength
especially now.
But before you look at this post from the past I wanted to remind you of my Giveaway. If you haven't entered yet please go to the original Giveaway post here and leave a comment on the original post by 5PM, Monday 10/19/09. The winner will be announced on Tuesday during my 'Three Or More' post.
Now on to my Sunday Favorite post...

Years ago when I experienced a difficult time in my life I've found this poem that helped me through it. The other day while browsing I found a little calligraphy stand that had this poem and I bought a copy of it to frame.
Comes the Dawn
After a while you learn the subtle
difference between holding a hand
and chaining a soul. And you learn
that loving doesn't mean
leaning and company isn't
security.
Kisses aren't contracts and
presents aren't promises.
After a while you begin to accept
your defeats with your head up and
your eyes open, with the grace of a
woman, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads
on today because tomorrow's
ground is too uncertain and the
inevitable has a way of crumbeling
in mid-flight. After a while you
learn that even sunshine burns if
you stand too long in one place. So
you plant your own garden and
decorate your own soul instead of
waiting for someone else to bring
you flowers.
And you learn you really can
endure, that you really do have
worth. You learn that with every
good-bye comes the dawn.

Mornin' Girlfriend...
I'm so sorry that I'm so late in getting by...this weekend was just crazy busy for us...this is my first time at the computer!
Ohhh...I'm just so glad that you shared this post with us for Sunday Favorites! I love poetry and must admit that I have never read, "Comes the Dawn"! It's so beautiful! Isn't it funny how you can read a poem and think, "that's just how I feel" but never had the right words to express it! I have always admired people who can write poetry...take words and paint a picture!!! Again, I love this poem that you shared with us today...I have copied it to my computer for future reference!
So happy to have you join in with us for Sunday Favorites this week, Darlin'!!!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
