129th Three Or More Tuesday - Garden Plans

Welcome to the 129th Three Or More Tuesday.

It's that time of year when I'm deciding
what to plant in the veggie garden. I use transplants
since I don't put anything into the garden beds until after
Memorial Day to avoid the risk of frost.

The first year I tried the whole seed thing but it
didn't work well and with my busy schedule the
transplants (even though more pricey) are the
better option for this weekend gardener.

After some trial and error my family realized what
veggies we actually consumed and what we ended
up giving away. The third year of our square foot
garden will include the following:

Green Beans
Tomatoes
Radishes
Carrots
Onions
Lettuce
Bell Peppers
Pickles
Cucumbers
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Basil
Parsley
Chives
Thyme
Dill
Cilantro
Garlic (Planted last Fall)

In a separate bed I'm also planting a red currant
and a gooseberry bush. Both berries that remind me
of my grandmas garden.

Now the weather just has to cooperate and our little
square foot garden will go from planning to harvest in
no time.

Do you plant veggies? Do you have a large
garden plot or plant things in containers?
What do you grow on a yearly basis?

All these questions for you,
now what do you have to share for 'Three Or More'?

thanks for hosting! I really want to start a garden, but we just haven't had time. I really want to do it next year. transplants will be the way to go for us, too.

I love your garden, and those square thingy containers. I planted tomatoes, green bean and sweet peppers.

We've never had alot of luck with a veggie garden. My tomatoes always get bottom rot. We do however do ok with hot peppers for some reason...so every year we at least grow these. Hope yours does wonderfully! Thanks for the party. Hope your week is wonderful!

I love your garden space. The raised beds are wonderful. So neat and easy on the back. I'd like to put in some garden space next year for some tomatoes, herbs, peppers, and lettuce. Hopefully next year will be drier! Thanks for hosting!

Hi Tam!
Wow -- you exhaust me with the number of veggies you grow! We just grow tomatoes and some basil to go with them . . . but last year the chipmunks ate almost all the tomatoes, so I'm not sure I'll even bother this year. But I probably will.

Love the raised beds. What system is that? I'd love to put some raised beds in here -- although it's getting kind of late now. Oh well . . . always next year!
Hugs ... Cass

I have waited for 2 years for anything from my garden! Last year the deer ate every thing...over and over again...except for the tomatoes! So this year I only planted tomatoes and green peppers...I've been waiting for a group of three in a container on my deck to ripen...Saturday they started turning a nice orange color...Sunday...SOMETHING STOLE THEM!!!! All that's left is the stump of the stem where something neatly harvested MY tomatoes!

I'm sooo jealous of your produce picture! =)
